Exhibition of Landscape Paintings by Diane Mathias

1 – 25 August 2017

Gift Shop Gallery

Specialising in landscape paintings of scenes within the Counties of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire,  artist Diane Mathias lives and works from her gallery in the village of Henllan in the beautiful Teifi Valley.

Although  she has painted and experimented with many forms of arts and crafts since early childhood, her career as an artist only began after her youngest child went to school in 1999 and when she could devote more time to painting. Already her work is already represented in private collections throughout the U.K.. Europe, Kuwait, New Zealand, America, Canada and Australia.

Diane’s landscapes are a direct response to the beauty of creation. ‘They reflect both the physical beauty that is so apparent here in West Wales and also my spiritual beliefs as a Christian – nowhere more apparent than in the painting ‘Land of My Fathers’. I have a great passion for the wild places, mountains and skies of Wales which I seek to capture in my work.’ she explained.

Her exhibition here will include a variety of both original paintings in oils and pastels,  a selection of prints in various sizes and some handmade cards. Her paintings will include scenes from around West Wales from as far south as the Gower to Anglesey and Snowdonia in the north.

Diane lives and work in Ceredigion, with her husband Emyr and five children. Click here for more information and to view her online gallery.
