There’s something invigorating about spring and we find ourselves taking a good look at the garden and musing about new features. A visit to Picton Castle’s Annual Spring Plant and Craft Fair is the perfect way to get expert advice and beautiful plants from specialist growers, and to stock up on some unique gifts and crafts to add colour to your world.
With over 40 wonderful stalls to browse through, and the added advantage of 40 acres of awesome springtime woodlands to wander through, plus, tours of our 13th Century Castle and a lovely restaurant where you can ‘people-watch’ whilst enjoying a speciality coffee and something tasty, it’s a really memorable day out for all the family!

Bolgoed Wool When making the decision to keep sheep, John and Maggie Harris chose the Lleyn breed which originates from North Wales. Maggie discovered that they also have lovely soft wool and went on a spinning and dyeing course. She now processes all the fleeces by hand. This involves washing, dyeing, carding and spinning, making a yarn ready for knitting or weaving. Most popular are wool and knitted items in the natural colour but new ideas have produced yarns of mixed colours, some incorporating silver and gold thread and even beads. Home knitted items include hats, scarves, mitts, bags, cushions and waistcoats. Some wool is woven into rugs and table settings.
