Grand Opera Supper and Fundraiser
Tickets Now On Sale
Our Grand Opera Supper in the Great Hall of the 13th century Picton Castle will combine fine dining, with the beautiful art of opera, to bring you a feast for the eyes, ears and taste buds. Built around 1300 Picton Castle is a most unusual building, half fortified manor house and half medieval castle. It contains many wonderful paintings and treasures and has a beautiful Great Hall where the supper will be served. We can only seat 70 people so please do get in touch with me soon if you would like tickets.
A delicious 3 course meal, prepared by the much sought after Spanish Chef, Maria Greenwood, will be interspersed with favourite arias and ensembles from some wonderful singers. We are very fortunate to have:
Baritone: Rhys Jenkins who is currently covering Count De Luna in Trovatore with WNO.
Tenor: John Hudson who regularly sings as a principal tenor for the major UK opera companies, and has recently sung Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the Royal Albert Hall and Radames (Aida) for English National Opera.
Soprano: Carleen Ebbs, who has just completed studying with Dennis O’Neill at the International Academy of Voice, Cardiff. Originally from New Zealand, she has worked with NBR NZ Opera and Opera de Bauge.
Bass baritone: Brendan Wheatley already known to you I’m sure as a regular performer and Director with SCO, currently singing Dr Bartolo in The Barber of Seville, Brendan will not only sing but also introduce the items in his entertaining way.
Tickets to this very special black tie event are £50.00 per person, exclusive of wine, and can be booked by telephoning 01874 690254, or by emailing enquiries@swanseacityopera.com.
