The Picton Castle Country Fair

The Picton Castle Country Fair. Sat 3rd September & Sun 4th September 2011

Come along to our annual Country Fair and join in this celebration of the Countryside, with Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery, Air Rifle Range, Vintage Tractors, Hawks, Wood Carver, Craft stalls, games and lots of have-a-go Country Pursuits all inspired by our wonderful Pembrokeshire Countryside there is sure to be something for everyone .

On Saturday we have Dog Agility & South Pembrokeshire Hunt.

On Sunday we have our Dog Show & Dyfed Carriage Club.

Open From 9.30am

Special Event Entry Fee £4.00 per person, under 15′s free

All Dogs Must Be Kept On Leads At All Times.

    Hello I just wanted to ask weather the Dog Show on Sunday the 4th of September in the Country Fair was open to non pedigree dogs and if there was a schedule I could have? Thank you very much Lucy.

    Hi Lucy,

    the dog show is to be a Family Fun Dog Show and some of the categories are Bext Mixed Breed, Best Fancy Dress, Dog with Waggiest Tale, Best Puppy, Best Child Handler, Ugliest Dog, Best Rescue dog, etc as well as Dog Races. The races will be classed on the day and will depend upon the dogs entered, each class is £1 per dog. Hope thats ok

    Hi.
    Can you tell me a bit more about the clay pigeon shooting please? Is it just a have-a-go stand with a coach present, can you bring your own shotgun/cartridges and how much does it cost to have a go? Also, is there a minimum age for the archery and air rifle shooting?

    Hi Adrian,

    The clay pigeon shooting is have a go only and you will not be able to bring your own shotgun. As for the age limits you will need to check with each have a go attraction as the limit may very from item to item. Each attraction is setting their own fee for have a go.

    The Family Fun dog Show starts at 11.00 am on the Sunday and the Fun Dog Agility starts at 11.00 am on the Saturday.

    Can you tell me if the Fun Agility is only on Saturday or is it going to be run on both days.

    Being a local we were keen to support the Country Fair and after paying £8.00 entry fee was very disappointed to find the Clay Shooting closed. This was the only attraction we wanted to try and left immediatley. We informed the ticket office and got no apology or offer of a refund.

    Fantastic day really enjoyed and me and Holly were very impressed with our 1st! Just wondering we had our photo taken in a class and would it be possible to find out who took it? Thanks!

    I attended this event as a craft exhibitor and I must say, although the weather was appalling on the Saturday and Sunday afternoon, I was very impressed with the venue, Picton staff (who were very helpful)the whole atmosphere of the weekend…..needless to say I enjoyed it very much…..and will be extolling it’s virtues to everyone I know!

    Hi it was ones of me and Holly in the class a man took some of us and i think it was in the waggiest tail class. Thankyou but they were not on the website as far as i could see. (Holly is black)
