Families of Picton Tours 8, 11, 22 & 25 March
Families of picton castle tours
In March we will be hosting a new event exploring the ‘The Families of Picton.’ This will be the second in our series of specialist tours on different aspects of Picton’s rich history. During this tour we will be looking at the personal stories of the individual family members throughout the 800 years of the Castle’s history. From the early medieval families to the Philipps’s who have been here since 1491, they are all a fascinating bunch. They include knights and generals, philanthropists and politicians, poets and artists, fraudsters and courtesans!
The stories of the Families of Picton is a scintillating tour of one of the most important seats of wealth and power in Pembrokeshire and the impact these families have had on both the county and nationally. The tour will take you through sections of the Castle’s story not normally covered and parts not normally open to public view.
The tour will be followed by refreshments in the Great Hall where there will be an opportunity to relax and enjoy the ambience. The guide will available throughout to discuss any aspects of the tour to ask questions. The tour begins at 2pm and will last approximately 90 minutes.
Tickets for these special Castle tours are £12.50, or £12.00 for seniors, (including access to the gardens and Welsh Owl Garden).
