Dogs on leads are more than welcome to accompany visitors in the Gardens – with the 40 acres providing more than ample scope for them to get plenty of exercise! All we ask is for you to bring along a ‘poop bag’ – or ask at our shop we always keep a supply – please dispose of these responsibly.
Assistance dogs such as Guide Dogs, are also permitted in the Castle.
**Gardens maybe closed in high winds or adverse weather conditions to all visitors to ensure visitor safety.
***Please note that castle tours may be restricted when wedding ceremonies or other functions take place in the Great Hall. The Gardens however will remain open. Please phone 01437 751369 to confirm castle tour times for the day you plan to visit.

There are 3 wheelchairs on site, which are available free of charge. Please enquire at the Ticket Office
2 Disabled toilets – located in the toilet blocks near the Courtyard entrance
Pathways from Ticket Office to Courtyard and Walled Garden are wheelchair friendly
The grounds are approximately 70% accessible
Castle tours are accessible (entry on the level) and after main floor, access to the Undercroft is by ramp. Please inform the shop when purchasing your ticket
Our Gift Shop, Galleries and Restaurant are all accessible
Disabled parking is available in the main car park
