Artist in August…
We are delighted to welcome artist Gill Farrington to our Studio Gallery this August. She will be setting up this Saturday (27th)..
“Gill is a local artist based at Mynachlog-ddu, Pembrokeshire in the midst of the beautiful and inspiring Preseli Hills. She has been painting since childhood inspired by watching her father, an accomplished amateur artist.
Academically, Gill completed a City of Guilds art and Design course, at Art and illustration course with the Open College of the Arts (passed with Merit) and attended Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham, to study BA (hons) in Fine Art.
Gill’s career has included teaching both privately and for local authority Adult Education classes for both Hampshire and Bracknell Forest Councils and has had exhibitions both locally in Pembrokeshire and Surrey. She currently belongs to the Hook and District Art Society and is a long time member of the Society for all Artists (SAA)
Living and working from her studio in the beautiful West Wales National Park, Gill’s paintings are inspired by nature and the world around her and include both representational and abstract or semi-abstract works in watercolour, oil and acrylic. She finds floral subjects very satisfying and enjoys trying to find an unusual aspect or viewpoint The ever-changing landscape or seascape is another aspect that she particularly enjoys.” (Gill)
The Studio gallery is positioned next to our shop and is open 9.30am to 5pm.
Gill will be doing “artist in residence” days from 10am-3pm on Thursdays 15th, 22nd and 29th August (may be subject to change). So come along and meet Gill 🙂
